I wrote my first ever children's book and I cannot wait to share it with you! I have loved kid's books all my life and it honestly feels like a dream come true to actually make one.
At its core, this book is an adventure book. A More Graceful Shaboom is a story of a child with two moms who finds a mysterious purse that seems to be a key to another dimension. I have always wanted kid's books about queer people that are celebratory and funny, about love and mystery, which maybe even drop a little unsuspecting time travel on you, and are not just lesson books about gender.
Many people live with the privilege of seeing others like themselves ubiquitously in media. This is not so much the case for LGBTQ folks. So I consulted with the stars, the children, and illustrator Crystal Vielula. Together we made an enchanted book just for you, the ones who have been here with me all along.
We need your help to make this book happen! Printing a hard cover book is extremely costly for a small publishing house.
